That’s why we offer tailored Social and Community Participation supports under the NDIS—to help you get out, get involved, and achieve your social goals with confidence. Our friendly and qualified support workers are here to assist you in connecting with your local community, developing life skills, and participating in activities that bring you joy and independence.
What Is Social and Community Participation?
Under the NDIS, Social and Community Participation falls under Core Supports and/or Capacity Building – Increased Social and Community Participation. These supports are designed to help you:
- Build social skills and confidence
- Take part in recreational or sporting activities
- Attend classes, workshops, or community events
- Access public transport or learn travel skills
- Volunteer or get involved in local groups
- Strengthen your independence through community engagement
Activities We Can Support You With:
- Attending social events, meet-ups, or group outings
- Joining clubs, art classes, or hobby groups
- Going to the gym, swimming, or playing team sports
- Visiting the library, cinema, or museum
- Exploring new places or interests
- Volunteering or participating in local causes
- Going out for coffee, shopping, or lunch with friends
- Building daily living and communication skills through group programs
You choose the activity—we’ll support you to get there, participate, and have fun.
Our Process – How It Works
1. Enquiry and Initial Chat
Reach out to us via phone, email, or our online enquiry form. We’ll have an initial conversation with you to understand your goals, interests, and what you’d like support with.
2. Understanding Your NDIS Plan
We’ll review your NDIS plan to see what level of funding is available under Social and Community Participation. Don’t worry—we’ll guide you through this and liaise with your support coordinator if needed.
3. Tailored Planning
We work with you (and your family or support coordinator if desired) to create a personalised participation plan. This includes selecting activities, preferred times, and matching you with the right support worker.
4. Service Agreement and Booking
Once you’re happy with the plan, we’ll prepare a simple Service Agreement and set up your bookings—whether it’s weekly group activities, one-on-one outings, or short-term programs.
5. Ongoing Support and Progress Review
Your support worker will assist you with your chosen activities while helping you build confidence, skills, and social connections. We regularly review your goals and progress to make sure you’re getting the most out of your supports.
